The front of the car is just terrible, the rest is not bad. I guess some people have more money than sense.
Sort of reminds me of a boat...nice work...but not my style.
What is the gas cap from???

Whoaaa! looking at those pictures I dont know whether to cry or laugh. Looks like a lotta hard work went into it, but dang talk about building it for your own style and nothing else!

Its a case of a beautiful workmanship and bad judgement.
I hate to knock other peoples efforts but the nose is ugly.
He would probably hate my car so to each his own.

That car would bring have brought in much more money if he had not changed the front/rear of that car. Right now it has zero bids with the reserve being higher?:hand:

That was built by the guys that built the G-machine mustang everybody was raving about at Columbus SMOY this year.

That car is very nice in so many ways and for about $450 to $800 you could increase the value by $5,000 just by putting an original grill back in it and it is not torn up to make it impossible to do in about a day or two at the most. Nice work ,just bad judgement like was stated.
Otherwise it is really a nice car and I always like yellow.

Please do not insult the mighty Cuda! :slap:
The front looks like a botched hack job in trying to make a futuristic type of 69 Camaro grille

kind of looks like a corvair on steroids.
Yeah I was thinkin it has a "Corvairish" look too. Like you said "a corvair on steriods" or perhaps a Camaro with "Down's Syndrome"! :rolleyes5 Amazing how much great work and expense went into something with such a bizarro outcome. Destroyed the car IMHO or at the least the front and rearend... suppose they could be changed back...with a hell of allot of work!

As a car designer....I really would just rather bite my tongue. Really hard. Obviously the grill is just poor execution all together. I think there are ways of doing a one off unique grill but this isn't one of them. Like mentioned by a couple guys above that's the biggest problem with the car. Overall I think the person who built this car has some skills. With a little bit of design direction, a theme, or just flat out a better execution could've made this car a lot better.
Sometimes that's why it might be a good idea to have an artist sketch some of your wild ideas out before you build 'em. Even atleast get somebody to photoshop something before you spend a bucket of cash on building something. Then you can see it before hand and you might decide then that maybe the idea sounds great in theory but when you see it built - maybe not.
Just my 2 cents.

that was the first car that the Ring Brothers did. in fact it was up for SMOTY against one of Stielow's cars i think. pretty sure it was the Red Witch

I think I saw it like 3 years ago at goodguys. It was really nice. The front end is a love it or hate it.

You know it's too bad, but that car is probably worth every penny of the $60,000 he's asking for it and maybe a bit more. The workmanship is phenomenal, and the interior is absolutely amazing. Unfortunatey, it's front and rear ends are what kills it. He should have just left them alone or did something subtle to them. Otherwise it's a terrific car.

grille swap and a tailpan replacement and you'd have a nice car :)
Tony
honestly from the looks for it the front end is just a grill swap... im sure you could get back to normal for like 400 bucks in repro parts probebly dont even need to paint any thing. i think that alone would help alot. im sure the rear wouldnt seem as bad either

From His Auction:
The car has been featured in the January 2002 issue of Popular Hot Rodding with a six page article. Also featured in the October Issue of Super Rod with a four page article and pull out center fold. This car also was Goodguys Street Machine of the Year runner up in 2001. Has won numerous awards, Super Chevy, World of Wheels, etc. You cannot build this car for the amount it will sell for.

The only thing I like about that car, is that it used to be a '68 Camaro... and the only parts that look good are the few parts they didn't F*%$ with.
What's with the wart on top of the cowl hood?

My first impression was "did somebody screw up Kris Horton's vision of a 5th gen and put it on a 1st gen". That is exctly what I think when I see the big Chrome horizontal strip in the grill and the vette tail lights. Awesome craftsmanship! Terrible design!

The car isn't that bad. I like the center console and interior work. I think the only thing I don't like is the nose. But that could be changed.

Do I like it? No. Will I like most of the cars that I'll see at the Goodguy's show in Scottsdale, AZ this weekend? No again. I personally think that it is absolutely asinine to build a car with a good $75k in it and only keep it clean. Am I right? No. Every guy here has his own dreams to fulfill so go at it. Take some ideas that you like or hate about this car and use them as fuel for your own dreams.
