Hey, I'm new to this group. I've checked out posts from here before but never made an account until recently when I sold my last project car which was a 1990 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo.

I rebuilt the motor on it and gave it a few upgrades. I know a good amount on cars being a mechanic for 2 years but would like to learn more about the old school muscle cars (since i worked on mostly german cars). Being a Chevy guy I'd like to get a 1st gen Camaro, restore it and swap either a 5.3, LS1 or LS2 into it (depending on the money situation at the time). I like the Camaro due to the fact that it's a smaller car and not large like the Chevelle and looks more sporty than the Nova. I'd like to make it into a canyon carver/hill climbable car with upgraded suspension and chassis stiffening but make it street drivable as well.

Thanks for having me in the group! :box2::headbang:

Welcome. You need to look into a second gen Camaro ;)

The 1967-69 Camaros are cool, but dam!! there are a freakin million of them out there. Thats why I don't like Mustangs. All Ford cared about was sales and made a Mustang for everyone.

thanks guys, yeah maybe I'll go for second gen. maybe even both if i got the money and make one a certain kind of race car. But I really like the 71 firebird you got BMR Sales, I'd love to make one into this kind of hillclimb car

and if I do get a 1st gen I'll do some customizing to make it a little different in a way, who knows lol

I vote for 2nd Gen also but not sure it would be Camaro, the Firebirds and Trans ams are growing on me.
But when I first started in the car business (Nissan Dealer) the 300z TT was one car I road tested often, I would sure love to own one, still smiling 20 years later! Great car
