I have the vortech sbc 350 Weisnd 142 polished blower. I hear the 144 will fit but not sure about 142 as it's taller....
anyone make it work and if so how ?
i don't want it sticking outside hood

The 142 cid blower is from Weiand, while the 144cid is from B&M The 144 has 2 more cid displacement, it may be from a different rotor design they make the 2 cid more claim, not sure. In any case...

The Weiand dimensions put the blower height from the lifter valley rail to the carb pad at 8 15/16".

See here http://www.holley.com/data/TechService/Technical/Supercharger%20Tech%20Info.pdf

My understanding is they are the same dimension blower case and intake.

I've been reading that 144B &M was bought by Weiand years ago and was a shorter blower by about 3/4" and lots of guys have those under the hood on 1st gen F body.... I need that 3/4" so seeing if anyone has put a 142 on 69 camaro. I realize EFI LS type motors r the way to go but since I have a 142 and sbc 350 I'd like to know before starting the project... Either way it would be crammed and a 2" air filter won't give much air

Ok, I would look for the datasheet if you could. the 144 is the cubic inches of air the blower moves. so have a 144CID blower that is 3/4" shorter in the blower, than a 142 cid blower case, seems odd to me.

I will keep hunting for an old spec sheet for the 144.

FWIW, my brother has the 177 on his 78 Malibu. With a big shot late and the 950HP, he only has a dinky air cleaner to clear a 6" Hardwood cowl hood.

Let me see if I can find the B&M specs

Just called the holley tech in KY
The 144 is in fact low profile at 7/3/4" the 142 is 8/15/16... Darn
Won't fit. If so zero air flow space
I guess my used 142 polished sbc vortech head is going up..

New they r 3100$

Ok, found the specs. As i suspected, the B&M 144 is a bit taller in the blower case.

Blower case:
B&M 144 = 5.92"
Weiand 142 = 5 5/8" (5.625")

The other spec of overall height is a little different, but the B&M lists the height from the pan rail to the to of a Holley 4bbl carb as 11.42", then add an air cleaner.

A holley carb I believe is 3 1/4 inches tall from the bottom of the carb to the ring the air cleaner sits on. So, for the total height of the weiand puts us at 12 3/6 (12.188).

So, I stand corrected, total height of the carb, intake and case it about 5/8 taller than the B&M.
