tall ball joint on 67 camaro

I have spc arms and pro forge tall ball joints. I am trying to break the ball joint loose from the spindle and mount it in top of the UCA. It is hell to break it loose and I can't seem to get it to break loose. The passenger side did fine but the driver I can't get. I have busted the lower however ball joint boot and now the top...is there a secret to breaking these tall ball joints loose? Also what's the secret when breaking all ball joints loose to keep from damaging the boots?

So this presses against the lower ball joint which pops the top loose? Also I think I have the .5 tall pro forge ball joints...I am thinking about buying the .9 tall...how much of a difference does the make and how will this affect my wheel clearance to the control arm?
