What exactly is a Speed Stop competition?

I've seen it talked about forever, but I can't remember if I've ever seen an actual explanation of what this type of event consists of?

Go like heII, take a few turns, stop in a box.

If you don't stop, I believe that is a DNF. The rest you got right.

Drag race start, turn around a cone, through a slalom back towards the start line, stop in the box, and don't hit any cones. Fastest time wins.
