On behalf of the entire USCA and OPTIMA Chumpcar World Series staff, we'd like to thank everyone that attended the OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car event at Texas Motor Speedway. Our second event of the season included a very diverse and eclectic collection of some of the finest cars ever to turn a tire in competition and a slate of brand new folks winning their way into the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. To our participants, crew, volunteers and spectators, we thank you for your support of the new series.
By by the numbers:
80 - number of miles on the road rally with 3 checkpoints
6 - number of women drivers in the field
1242 - number of Autocross and speed stop laps
2112 - number of laps around the infield road course
122 - the model Volvo that won the GT2 class
5 - number of decades of cars represented
1 - number of cars that came to grid for the last road course session of the day (way to go Cheryl Herrick!)
Next event is the OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car at Daytona International Speedway May 23-25. This will likely be one of our most popular events with 9 hours of track time on the Daytona roval, including running under the lights! Spots are filling quickly. Don't forget our referral program - you sign up and pay, refer a friend, and when your friend signs up and pays, YOU get half your entry fee refunded. We also have a group discount for clubs and shops - with three or more entries, we will refund $100 of each persons entry fee. www.ultimatestreetcarassociation.com (http://Www.ultimatestreetcarassociation.com) #driveusca #becausestreetcar

WOW, 28 cars scored and 2112 laps on the big course? looks like ya'll are doing endurance racing now? Some ratpack hopefuls are getting a good start on their mileage requirements without having to leave the track....lol

LOL... Thanks Bill... had me choking on my lunch with that one.
Thanks USCA for bringing the show to Texas. It was a blast. We are already hitting people up to come join in the fun for next year. Just let us know when.

Hey Bill, we actually had over 40 cars on track, but our scoring system only shows those that are competing for points. We created the Gold level entry for those folks that just want to come out and enjoy their cars and learn new skills, without the pressure of competition. We had a fairly large novice group at this event, which is good to see and the five instructors we had on sight were busy all day on Saturday and Sunday.
All that being said, all of the sponsors are certainly getting a chance to showcase parts durability and our tire sponsor representative, Richard from BFGoodrich, was mighty happy with all the laps turned, and we're pretty certain the phone at Tire Rack will be ringing with orders for new Rivals. :)
Our next event is fairly close to an area where you've been spending considerable more time, it would be great if you could come out and join us in Daytona and get that Mopar or your Mustang onto the high banks. We'll reconfigure the track to keep the speeds down, but you get a chance to run the same course as all the cool kids like Carroll Shelby and Dan Gurney! :drive1:

The event was a blast, and the people at the event were awesome. Doesn't matter who you talked too, staff or participants, everyone would spend time answering anything asked. Count me in for next year. Jimi, Dennis both a riot. Every one should take the time to work an event like this as its as much fun as participating, besides you see behind the scenes.

What a great event!!! Everything ran like a well oiled machine. Top notch 1st class all the way. I can honestly say great value for the money. I cant wait till Daytona what a dream come true to be able to run the high banks plus as a bonus getting to run them under the lights. I will be running almost all of the events.

I definitely want to do more. Daytona and road America are bucket list tracks but St. Louis is a lot closer... Hmmmm
That's right Chichirone, I am planning on being in St. Louis! It was too hard to just be a spectator at TMS. Dam customers need to leave me alone so I can go and play! I'll bring my old heap '71 Chevy to Gateway Motorsports Park and have some fun in July. :))))))))
