First off the truck is a 2013 GMC Regular cab with a boxed frame.

I just finished having my top brackets (1/4") cut for the front of my truck to house coilovers. Now im starting on the rear and was thinking maybe 1/4 is overkill and use 3/16. My issue is between my frame and gas tank is only about 3/16". I'm going to use the 3/16 plate on the backside of the brackets to mount them but could i just use 3/16 on the brackets themselves or use 1/4. I will take pics of the idea im talking about later today to help people understand what im talking about. Thanks Pro-touring brothas

3/16 is just fine if you execute it like you're saying with a gusset between the two plates :)

And this is the idea i have for the front brackets for the lower bars/links. I could use 1/4 on the bracket and 3/16 on just the back part. I think price to make them either 3/16 or 1/4 is the same. I will use gussets no matter what so i could rest at ease.
