Im new here so I hope its ok to post this in this section. IS there anyone out there willing to share with me tire specs for 20s and possibly 22's on rear of 65 Impala,,,,either bagged or just lowered....Im open for going either way. I just dont want to cut up the car too much for clearance but would like as much rubber as I can jam under it with big wheels. Thanks for any help.

I am going from experience on my 68 but you can get a good amount of rubber under a 65-70. An adjustable panhard will allow you to center the axle which makes tight fitting rubber a bit easier.

A 10" wheel with rubber up to a 305 could fit with the offset spot on. I have a 285 with almost an inch left on each side. The open top coil on the rear makes setting the ride height pretty straight forward.

OK THANK YOU. So are you running 20's on the rear? And did you lower it at all?

285/18/40 on the rear. It's probably down about 2.5" in the rear.

My 68 wagon had 20x8.5 all the way around. Ran a 295 in the rear. Plenty of room once I added adj. track bar. I was never happy with the ultra small front tire though. It had our CoolRide all the way around with stock spindles and all stock trailing and control arms front and rear.

Here is my friends 65 Super Sport. He has Global West suspension front and rear with adjustable pan hard bar. Wheels are 20x8.5 frt and 20x10rr, I believe the backspace on the rear is 6" with 285/35-20. It does not scrub.
