Is there any real benefit to using aftermarket LS style coils like Holley 556-112, MSD 82878 or Accel 140042 over OEM GM Gen IV LS parts (p/n 12611424) on my BBC EFI build?

If your BBC is naturally aspirated, I would say no.

Agreed. If you are running N/A, there will be zero noticeable gain between the coils. If you are running a big power adder, get the high performance coils from Holley, or something similar.

So you are doing CNP ignition and just asking about the different coils or are you asking about CNP setup in general? I have wanted to do CNP but finding a spot for the coils, etc is a challenge. If you have or are planning to do CNP, what are you using for a cam sync?

Thanks!

I'm running CNP. Running a 36-1 wheel on the crank and 1 tooth on the distributor for the cam sync.

I just bought the MSD coils, hopefully they work fine. Have you thought about where youll put the coils yet? Looking around Im not sure if I want to use the inner fender or maybe theres a bracket I can fabricat (or buy) that runs off the valve cover maybe. I know Holley said no more than 2 feet from the plugs to avoid interference so Ill put 4 on each side of the motor, just deciding where. Valve cover isnt an option, whats the beauty in running a BBC if theyre on the valve cover? lol
