Alright as you can see it's not much of a project now as it's almost ready to go, but it has been a project for me. I'll be skipping past the whole process obviously but my hope is that you guys will appreciate and enjoy the project/pics? This 1963 Fairlane 2dr post car was bought almost 11 years ago and was supposed to be our wedding " get away" car, befitting for a whimbelton white car after all. This was the quintessential grandma car that was sold off once the husband, who drove passed away. It was a very solid car, with 6 cyl, 2spd trans, and was a painted running and driving car when I bought it. I bought it from a body's hop owners son who stalled with the project when the motor/trans swap rolled around. I

I stripped the engine bay after ditching the original motor /trans and painted it the exterior color, did some detailing and dropped in a 5.0 from a 1993 mustang. I converted it to carb and added a RPM air gap intake, Hooker headers and a Holley 570 street avenger carb. She actually runs very well, much more responsive than I thought it would be.92064

92065Did a 11" brake swap using 80 Granada spindles etc, then added some 17" American Racong "Faytona" wheel sand KDW rubber.

Love this car! I'm doing a 63 in 4 door with a 4.6 DOHC and 8.8 setup on bags. Your setup is very clean. The 93 Hyper pistons can take an abuse regardless of what some say. I ran a procharger with 17psi up to 440rwhp on mine till I lifted the heads. Keep it up!

I'm liking the way it's working out, nothing crazy, just simple clean with an eye on the bottom line. Unfortunately these cars have not found the value that some of the other smaller early Fords have. I got the 9" out right now doing a 11" rear disc kit and a new set of 3:50 gears. Trunk/ Optima is done, but I'm thinking that a "blue bottle" would look good back there in the form of a 125 shot!!! NOS

That would surely look good back there. What did you coat the trunk with? And where did you get those lights at???

I'm anxious to get back to work on mine but had to get it trailer worthy for the move to my new retirement home.

I'm looking forward to the rest of your build. I love the 63's. Everybody and their mother likes the 64 fairlane, 64-69 mustang, 64-66 falcon and all in 2 door. I love the 4 doors for the family. These 63's can look killer when done and you are on the right track with yours.

I can't remember where I bought the lights. They came from a classic truck outfit that much I know. I will look into it for you. The trunk splatter paint was just Duplicolor light grey.

We'll I got the rear end and disc brakes done. Got the 17" mounted and installed but think she's still low in the rear a bit. Took a pic of the interior also, just finished off the aircraft style belts and only need to finish up the shifter boot. She's almost a car. Driveshaft and some brake bleeding and she will be a running driving car again.947839478294781947839478294781

Great looking car, and color me interested about those headlights if you ever find where you got them from.
