I am lucky enough to know the guys from Gas monkey and spent last week with the boys from the shop....Its a good car (the falcon) he built it with QA1 shocks because that is what it was set up for from the original builder, YES we built Ridetech coil-overs for it now, I know the show is a love/hate for most but I will tell you...they are real down to earth cars guys putting in 12 to 14 hour days in, almost every day, they film the show during the day, and once the cameras leave(at 5:00pm) they spend hours every-night (we never left earlier than 9 at night) doing the real builds without cameras and the crazy looky-loos out side the gates all day! as a matter of fact Aaron even came out to goodguys on his Saturday to just hang out and then went back to the shop and was there till 10pm again

Thats pretty awesome! I would like to meet Richard and Aaron one day. Here at Edwards we see celebs all the time, but meeting down to earth guys makes it that much enjoyable.

From the very start of the episode it looked like to me anyway that Aaron had a difference in him from normal in regards to this car. He seemed much more serious and more intent on making it nice. I enjoyed that part of it.

The car is awesome...'nuff said. Only thing I didn't really care for was the seats. They didn't look too safe to me for a streetcar type of application with no head rests or supports. Hopefully he gets that taken care of soon (if not already). The shoulder belts sliding off the original owner's shoulders during the ride along made me shudder as well. Rest of the car is top notch and I would have loved to see it in person.

I've really taken a liking to the show over the past few months, from what I've heard Reality TV producers push manufactured drama and there is a bit of that here as well, but looking past that you can tell they all really are car guys and are loving what they do. Staying at the shop late into the night on their own like Rod says drives that point home as well. Thanks for sharing...

remember Aaron and crew build 3 cars a week for the show(alone) and then they have REAL customers because as Aaron said when the show comes to an end he still has a shop to run..I think Aaron doesn't fall in love with them because of the turn over

they do pump the Drama.. Richard is loud and funny, so they use sound bites from random things to "douche" him up but he really has a big heart

The one thing I didn't care for on the Falcon was the light bar. It looked out of place and a little ricer to me. Other than that I liked the car.

That was a very nice car. They get a bad rap, but I truly believe the what Rod said is true of why they don't fall in love with the cars. Although they are car guys, Richard is in business to make money. Like the Falcon, I'm sure they both have come across cars they don't want to let go.

That was Sold a long time ago back when they had the Old Shop and they had the Guy working at GM who had started Aaron's Shop with him. He left GM a couple of years ago - I always got the Impression he did not like the Cameras. I saw Brownie last night on the Lift and I was wondering the same thing.

I didn't watch the whole Episode ( I was flipping between FastnLoud & Hockey) - The One thing that doesn't look right to me is the Front Bumper.

The only part of the Falcon that looks strange to me is the front bumper. The lower corners just look out of place to my eye.

I started building a 1963 Falcon 4 door with my step daughter but she lost interest. Disappointed it never was finished. Maybe someday I will build one.

Why they didnt call me to help fix that, I'm not sure ;)

I live here, and have had two different people on separate occasions tell me that they tried to take cars there and were told that they do not take work from outside. All the cars they work on they sell and/or are strictly for the show. They do not do any work directly for customers. True?

I can see that, since I figure if I get more hardcore into the "hobby", that's what I would do. That way you build the car as you like, then sell it as is, take it or leave it. A lot easier than dealing with a picky customer: "Uhhh, I wanted this stripe to be 1/4" lower, and 2 shades darker". They have enough recognition to where they can sell anything that has their name on it, so I don't blame them.

Car looks awesome though. It's waiting for me on my DVR, but I'm scrambling on the Mustang so no time for TV!

I think the car is a win. I love the white with the gold wheels and it has a great stance. I enjoy the show for what it is. It isn't a tech show and they aren't building Ridler competitors and to build a car fast enough to make the show work, they aren't going to be perfect. I like off the wall builds and would never gamble on building something like a green station wagon, but it is fun to watch a show where they will. Reality TV is what it is, it isn't geared for us, it is made for the masses that don't know or care about the difference between a 12-bolt and a 9 inch.

I think it's a good blend of a show. It has enough technical information to keep us interested, but without the boredom of some of these Saturday morning tech shows. But GMG has enough other stuff and characters to get other people watching too, I've found out a lot of my non-car friends that I thought would never watch a car show are avid fans, even my last roommate, who was a girl that normally had no interest in cars.

The show is pure entertainment. I really dis-like the powerblock shows even though I still watch them. I think the drama in GMG keeps me interested. However...I have noticed that the show is starting to show case part brands. I don't really enjoy a bunch of sale ads in a show. The Forgelines, the ride-tech, gauge pak etc..etc...I guess if I was getting discounted/free parts or money, I would probably do it too.

Why does everybody keep buying my car? First it's Jay Leno, now Gas Monkey...

I remember studying this car a few years back, when it was still in the shop that did the original build with La Carrera aspirations--I think it was called American Race Parts, or something like that. I noticed that their site changed when the car went to TV land.

At any rate, I kind of liked the way the car looked/where it was going before Aaron decided to "improve" things--it looked more like a race car, and less like a "me too" pro-touring build . . . oh well. It's still an awesome car...

My brothers and I just picked up an all original running 4 door a couple days back for practically nothing. Weren't really looking for a falcon, but it was too cheap to pass up. I honestly didn't even remember the GM episode until I started looking into "racing ford falcon". Thinking the guy we got it from hadn't seen it either. Maybe we can hold onto it for a few years and the price'll go up the more Aaron drives his haha

I built the car For Jim Hadden as a vintage legal A-sedan, Jim decided to sell the car when he retired and moved to Florida. The car was a driving car when GMG got the car. The "dangerous " steering column was installed as per Jim's instructions, not my choice. The car never had QA 1 shocks on it before GMG installed them . I installed Ride Tech's in the rear and Custom Bilsteins in the front. The 'Bad" clutch they replaced was a Tilton muti-disc.I guess they don't know how to measure disc thickness.

The story that they built the car is total "BS".

The car was a leaf spring car, not a 3-link.It used narrow 180# springs. Fabricated sway bar and adjustable panhard and lift bars. Front was new stock uppers and lowers that were boxed ,added Howe ball joints and Mono-balled cross shaft and lower pivots. Adjustable strut rods. Big snout spindles with re popped KH calipers. Adjustable upper spring seats with 8" 600# springs on mono balled spring rockers.
