Looks like I will have to do some driveline work on my 68 Camaro. Instead of getting a new stock/steel driveshaft, I was wondering if there would be an advantage to getting an aluminum driveshaft instead. The car has a mild built 350 small block and will be used mostly on the street, but for sure the monthly Auto X and hopefully a track day or two a year. Summit and Jegs has them for @ $400 ready to be plugged in, 1310 series etc. Will it hold up forever on the street and start/stop for an Auto X? Thanks for the input and advice, TZ

For what you're doing with the car there isn't much of an advantage going aluminum.

Aluminum does have benefits over the stock steel, but your combo doesn't sound like it really needs it. I guess if you have the cash to burn you'll see a little benefit but if it were me I'd invest the money else where.
