in 2010 I purchased a 427 crate engine. It's been covered up in my garage until now. With the engine in the car and no drive train hooked up we couldn't turn the crank. Could that engine have seized up just sitting in my garage ? The speed shop says take it out, break it down and inspected everything. Has anyone ever had this happen ? It's brand stinking new.

Take out the plugs and see if it will turn. Then pull the distributor and prime the oil pump and try again. If that doesn't work put some ATF in each cylinder and let it sit for a few days and try again by hand. Make sure to leave the plugs out until you blow all the ATF out.

what he said^. If not sounds like it could actually be seized...

Ive heard that marvel mystery oil works well here but you do need to pull the plugs and put something in the cylinders. Just be sure to change the oil before you try to fire it up. Some of the atf or whatever you use can seep past the rings and get into the oil pan

+1 for marvel mystery oil. Lots of cars sit for years and dropping some oil in each plug hole breaks em loose in most instances.
