Im currently running 275/50-17 and 225/50-17. The car has evolved into a weekend racer. The Nitto 450's just wont grip...period. Ive looked at Direzza II, Rivals, Hankook Ventus R etc... nothing even close to the current size im running in a 17" tire. I cant really go any smaller on width or height. We built the custom flares around the radius of the Nitto's and anything smaller makes the car look hideous.
Just curious if any manufacturer makes a better " autocross" tire than these Nittos, and in the size I have. I have included a pic of the car so you guys understand how important the size is to the look of the car.

Don't know if they make the size you need but I'm running the Kumho XS on my wrx and they stick extremely well. Other than that.......definitely bfg rival or any star spec tire

There are not very many options in a 50 series sidewall - just too much sidewall for a competition tire. Looks like you might need 18" wheels to keep the tire diameter constant and go with a lower profile / high performance tire.

when you say autocross tire do you mean a 200 treadwear tire?

Not a lot of choices in a 50 series. How about running a 45 series and lowering the car another 1/2"?

or bump up to an 18" like suggested above. You could run a 225/45/18 and 275/45/18 and be at the same height. Just depends on how much you like your current wheels...
