68 firebird ls swap

Ok guys. I'm a newb and need some help with possibly doing an ls swap into a 68 firebird I just got my hands on. I need to know what years and car donor are best for my swap. Any help would be appreciated and any advice with where to go would be awesome. I'm looking to make it an automatic also because the wife will drive the car to. Mods and parts list would be great.I'm trying to keep it at a budget also. thanks and I look forward to the help and advice.

Based on your description of intended use, I think 98-02 F body would be best donor. Lots of parts that can be used aside from the drivetrain. If you're up to parting out all the things you dont use, you can really offset the cost of the swap. Scott

Doing the same thing myself---98 Firebird into my 68 Firebird.....nothing running yet but have fit most of the stuff. Most, if not all, of the info out there for the first-gen camaro is the same for Firebird. Invest a few hundred hours reading the LS forum here and you will have more ideas than you have money for.

Look into ls1 tech, conversion and hybrid section, lots of helpful info there.
