If you use a late model DBW ECM on an early 5.7ls. Do you have to reprogram the ecm for the 24 tooth reluctor ring? If so how hard is it to do with an EFI Live programmer?

I dont believe that will work, but I am no expert. Probably best to use 99-04 C5 ecm & harness if u want to use DBW on a 24X LS1. At least that was my finding several years ago.

Don't think it can be reprogrammed. There are 24 to 58x converter boxes though (Lingenfelter?)

Won't work at all, new ECM uses 58x reluctor.
