The goals of the "S71" Olds project were to build a car with great driving / handling capabilities, run an EFI turbocharged OLDS engine, incorporate some new technology, but still resemble the original look of the car. This one was one of the most fun cars we've built. Here's the final feature video, part one of this 2-parter dealt with the final assembly and ISIS, this one has the "WHOOSH" driving shots that make us giggle.

Andrew,
It's a 75 MM Bullseye Power extended tip turbo, T6 flange.

Cool car but we need numbers. Unless it has got some Honda in it and we can just talk about how fast it could be.

Honda?
Unfortunately, this one was delivered to the owner before we could dyno it, so we will never know unless he puts it on the rollers. But it makes power, that's for sure.

Spectacular. I've always had a soft spot for that body style. Love the metallic too, I imagine the video doesn't do it justice.

Thanks Bob, you're correct, the color is insane in the sun.

Love it, especially because of the Olds engine. BTR is a top notch engine builder.

Kevin,
I was able to take a look at it in Vegas and the fit and finish was unbelievable. Great to see it stayed olds powered. How was the XFI to tune and was it user friendly? I have a Turbocharged 401 Nailhead in my Skylark GS and looking into jumping in efi from blow thru and I have heard mixed reviews about XFI.
Thanks
Paul

Yeah what he said! Nick, if you haven't already check out the 9 part build videos of BTR assembling the engine, some good stuff in there.
I do have a question though, did you try any other manifolds? I was thinking the factory true dual re-pops, take 2 drivers sides with one normal and the other backwards on the passenger side. That way you could have had each manifold supply each side of the divided flange and get rid of the long pipe going from the second manifold to the turbo.

Paul, We liked the XFI 2.0 in this application. It's pretty user friendly if you have any tuning experience. We noticed that the self-learning function is helpful, but it is also cool that you can lock out the learning function in certain cells if you need to. We had a range of the VE table that the XFI constantly kept tuning rich and caused a stumble, but by locking those cells out, we were able to manually write those cells and clean it up. Under WOT, you tune it like a regular XFI because that is not a learning zone. It was cool. Didn't take us long to have a solid, safe tune.

I think we looked at doing that, but we had some clearance issues up front with the reversed manifold. At any rate, it runs hard with the y-style pipe.
