I wonder how many of you clicked this link thinking I was wanting to turn and RS into a z/28 clone... well, I bought a car that already has that done. No I'm not exactly leaving it as a z/28, and I'm excited to join a community that embraces modifying a classic car, and doesn't consider it *******izing.

My name is Jeff and last summer I bought my dream car; a 68 Camaro.

I'm an early 30's automotive technician by trade and I grew up around Camaros. We all have that dream car, and for me, this is it. My uncle owned a real '68 Z Sunoco car. It was originally equipped with the 4 speed Muncie, 302 and had been modified with a cage, and had a really high RPM 350 built (302 was always kept on a pretty stand) and was used as a streetcar (barely) and on the weekends an oval race car in an amateur league in Montreal. I lost my uncle and he had just turned 46 over 10 years ago. We all share a similar story... no will, one thing led to another, and the car was sold for a song and a dance. I still have a family friend who keeps tabs on the car as it changes owners from time to time but I couldn't wait for that car to become available any longer.

So here I am. Bit the bullet, bought a surprisingly clean 68 2 owner car and it's time to fulfill a dream. The last conversation I had with my uncle was that he was gonna pull the car out that year and paint it black. Turn it into more of a street car. Well black is my thing... black on black on black. Always has been. Without writing a novel I have a vision in mind and I hope a few of you follow me along the way. Really looking forward to comments and advice and although I have extra thick skin, try to keep in mind this is going to be both a tribute car to my uncle, I'm hoping I leave my own mark on it as well.

Will start a build thread soon and show pictures of the original car, and of mine as it sits now.

Hello to all in advance! :)

Thanks guys. Just moved from Calgary out east to be with my fiance in the GTA. Plans on moving to Niagara region this year if all goes well. I'm your neighbor, Peter!

Yes not too far, we are neighbors, and the niagara area is beautiful, your a lucky man.
There is a local LS / guru supply house not too far from you if need be [I'll post as soon as I remember the name] .
Hortons hotrods if you need to order in some parts, they are in Milton just west of you.

To be honest with you I've made a lot of sacrifices coming from oil rich Alberta to Ontario, so my funds are not what they used to be. As a compromise, I am trying very hard to get some work in Grimsby, or surrounding areas. I just love the place.

Awesome info on parts suppliers and whatnot, feel free to send me a message with any contact info you have. Very used to have a 'network' as I work in this trade and had long time ties with some big names in the Calgary area... I miss being able to pull on that.

Some family friends introduced me to a really nice guy who lives in Grimsby, and he's pointed me to a custom engine shop in Thornhill. Have you ever heard of them? The few reviews online I've found are quite impressive of this small shop, and they're who I'm going to speak to about the machining of my LS block whenever I acquire a new one.
