Hennessey Venom GT Sets 270.49mph Record on Forgeline GA1R Wheels

On February 14, 2014, the Hennessey Venom GT set a new production car world speed record by reaching a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h). The test was performed at the Kennedy Space Center on the 3.2-mile Space Shuttle landing runway and driven by Brian Smith, Director of Miller Motorsports Park.

Built on a carbon fiber & composite/aluminum hybrid monocoque space frame and powered by a twin turbocharged 7.0L (427ci) V8, the Hennessey Venom GT makes 1244HP but weighs only 2743 lbs.

Cool to see my car's big brother finally met the top speed that it was always said it could do. No way will the Veyron top that any time soon, especially not in a version that would be available at the show room

Those wheels are perfect for the car. From what I read the car had more available but they ran out of room.
