Dose anyone know if the speedtech big block headers will work with 305 AFR heads? I want to order AFR heads but I hear you cant use some headers. Im using Speedtech sub with Stainless Works headers.

I know that Speedtech headers have good clearance and I will be running them with my big block on a stock chassis with a Unisteer power rack (same headers you will be using). I don't have mine yet, so I cant speak directly, but after hours of research, I know they are the only ones I will be buying. The header clearance issues usually occur around the steering box, and your heads will raise the exhaust port 3/8", so this would move you away from this area. The concern would be if you are running shorter body mount bushings. You may have floor to header clearance issues if you are. If you run stock height bushings, I don't think you will have an issue, although the clearance will be tighter.

Hey Wicked- Sorry I missed this, have you gotten your question answered over the phone?
I checked AFR's website on the 305s. We have a 572 going into a 69 Camaro in the shop, Stacey's 69 Camaro (https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/100022-Speed-Tech-Shop-69-Camaro-from-Down-Under) With this engine combination the headers are about 1/2"-ish clearance from the floor pan. With the raised 305s ports you will likely end up near that too. Dynomat or other heat barrier in these areas is probably not a bad idea. Something to watch out for is if you're running head studs, sometimes they will be located in such a way that they hit the header flange. If you're running head bolts, clearance anywhere else shouldn't be much of a worry.
