For Sale:

I have a '1969' date coded 396. Casting # is 3955272. Engine ID Code on front pad: T0320J0 19L045915. It's freshly rebuilt and has about ~5,000 miles on the rebuild. It's basically just a normal, stock, rebuild. The motor is still in the car. I'm selling it to start converting the car over to a fuel injected engine, and just updating the entire car.

I'm selling this engine, air cleaner to oil pan, flywheel to water pump and all drive accessories. This includes the ignition, plug wires, the whole nine yards. Turn key and ready to go.

Here are some details:

brand new Edelbrock carb
Chrome A/C compressor
Chrome valve covers
Chrome air cleaner
Billet pulleys
Holley aluminum intake --------------- I have a video of the engine starting/running that I can email or text if you're interested.
HEI GM distributer
Chrome alternator bracket
New power steering bracket

I'm sure there's more - but you get the idea. Asking price is $4,100 OBO. Buyer pays all shipping costs. I'll even throw in the freshly rebuilt Muncie 4-speed, bellhousing, clutch & shifter!

According to this chart this is a 1969 engine. There is also a "P" next to it.

More info:

Used from approximately September of 1968 to June of 1969. Sometime between casting dates January 7 and March 17 the casting date position was moved to rear of bellhousing flange.

JO = 265 hp, Police engine??

The 'JO' suffix translates to a 396/265hp from a 1969 full size passenger car with 2-bbl. carb, Turbo 400 trans. in a police car. It is a 2-bolt main block. The 'L' in the VIN (19L045915) is the location of the plant where the car was assembled. I do not know where these cars were assembled; the only 'L' plant I am aware of is the 1969 Camaro which was assemble in two locations, one being Los Angeles (actually Van Nuyes). This engine is NOT from a Camaro.

If the suffix could be 'JQ', it would be the same engine but NOT a police car order. Definitely out of a full size passenger car in both cases.
