Hey guys, Newbie here so much information to read up on. Some of you guys have mad skills with metal work. I have to buy a welder and practice. I think I have the general idea may consider taking a class on it. Not at all new to building American muscle, just my first old muscle. Got a plan/goals that's a start sometimes, don't want to go too over the top but famous last words.

Good thing is, I have a drivetrain going to pull out my 408 LS3 top 6spd out of my TA and drop in a stockish LS1 back in and sell it. So I've got a 520rhp setup up and a 68 GTO for it. Now comes everything else...

I saw that killer frame on that 69 GTO and that may be the way to start but we'll see what coin I have for a setup like that.

For me, the most important things:

Stance/ride height
Min 10"wide rear tires that tuck
smooth flush glass (if not too expensive)
no chrome
no drip rails
no rear bumper
Exh will be fitted to fit through the valance, clean modern look
AC..ac...ac!
Some sort of custom look on the hood, idea in the works
Custom chin area.

No idea on paint color, Thinking silver, red, dark blue, dark OE grean, orange.

No idea how to fund all this yet, for whatever I sell my TA pace car for will be reinvested in this.

Looking forward to a new money pit.

Strangely, I sold a mint '68 GTO to fund my new project, a 1969 Cougar.

Ok, I would've voted for the 68 GTO. We all get bored, especially if it was mint...isn't it sacrilege to be named "Pontiac" and have a Ford? lol I had no intent of owning so many Pontiacs, even this GTO fell on my lap traded it for an LS1. Usually don't see Cougars too much.

I had the GTO for 12 years and it was way too nice to modify so we went looking for a project car. We looked at 67-68 Firebirds and 64-66 Pontiac A bodies and found we were going to have to spend a lot to get a decent car. My first car was a 1969 Cougar XR7 so I thought it might be cool to have another one. My son found this 16k one owner car locally and we paid 1/2 of what a decent Pontiac would have. So here we are.
