I just had some engine internals cryo treated, the owner of the treatment facility and I got to talking and he had claimed that cryo treating rotors increased their ability to withstand high temperatures and resist cracking increased significantly. I had brought up drilled rotors such as those on Corvettes and he told me that the Corvette crowd is HUGE on cryo treating their rotors. I know that motocross guys cryo treat their rotors. Everything I have read into cryo treating suggests and supports the claims.

cool thanks. i have read a lot about it. seems like anyone who competes either "does not know much about it" or does not want to share any info. racers like to keep there secret i guess lol. you would think the competitive pro-touring crowd would be all jazz about this....

If you want I have lots of research information and and general information about it. Its not an easy read, but if you have a good understanding of scientific and engineering you should be able to grasp it. I went with the guys at 300 Below, http://www.300below.com/. They are VERY customer friendly and Randy the owner is willing to talk shop. They are up in Decatur Il too so you may be able to save on shipping.

Yes cryo works for pretty much ANY metal object. Razors stay sharp longer ie less wear.
Other parts also benefit from similar treatment. Taking a material down to absolute zero, then controlling bringing it back to room temp.
From what I have seen and read many people, and race teams swear by it.
I can tell you that I had a guy with a mowing service, he had blade wear issues, cryo treated enough NEW blades for all his units, NEVER replaced on for full year EXCEPT when someone bent one.
So that sure tells me I want to cryo treat my rotors.
