Torque on Lugs

Hey guys just simple quick question. What should I set for ft/lbs on the torque wrench for lug nuts? Just been awhile since i've changed wheels..thinks its 85? But not 100%, thanks for the help

I do 85 on my aluminum wheels with a shoulder not an acorn lugnut.

Depends on stud. Most 12x1.5 or 1/2x20 will run around 100 ft lbs and retorque after 25-50 miles driving on aluminum wheels, I will torque new 7/16 studs to 100, but older ones I tend to back down to 90 and keep watch on.
These numbers are what I use everyday at work, some cars allow for 80ish torque but honestly, if a 12 x 1.5 on one car takes 100 then those others should be able too also.

Yeah, because they all use the exact same metallurgy. Can't say I'm too impressed with your advice. I've run 70-75 on 1/2-20 and never had an issue. I would never knowingly put over low 80's through anything until you get up to a 9/16th or a 14 mm.
I work for a very busy new car dealer. We never bother people with recommendations to re-torque.
Mercedes do recommend something like 110 on their stupid 12mm studs

Not trying to start a pissing contest but because you've never had an issue with 70-75 on 1/2-20 doesn't make it right or what is routinely recommended. GM recommends 100 lb-ft on all C6 Corvettes (12mm studs), 140 lb-ft on the 2500HD trucks, and I have always used 100 lb-ft on my 1/2-20 studs.

I use 100ft/lbs on my 12mm studs and retorque after 10-20 miles. Used that for 18 years on the camaro and never had an issue. The studs on the front are factory 1985 12mm studs and have probably been torqued over 100 times since I've owned it...lol
