The Turbo Rotary Sprite will eat it alive, too much weight. I'll even bet that Mike Maiers CP Mustang will be right there with it or faster.

The sprite weighs 1700 pounds.

I wish them luck and hope too see good things, but Jeff Kiesel's Sprite is light and stupid quick and very well sorted out at this point in time.

Build pics and specs in that Solomatters link. Someone dumped a ton of cash into that thing.

Spoiler is for max downforce. Since E Mod isn't allowed to run wings so you get spoilers like that. Weight isn't bad for the car but is heavier than the smaller cars in EM. It will be interesting to see how close he can get to the Sprite. I think it is cool that someone is willing to go against the trend in EM, variety is always a good thing.

I Agree, I like the Build, but Jeff's Sprite is crazy light & quick which counts in A/X. If Jeff & I weren't on opposite Coasts, I'd like to see what my 1500lb 320hp Porsche 914-6 could do against him

Since im sure not everyone on here knows who Jeff is, here is a video of THE E-MOD.

I know it wont be competitive, but I appreciate the level of this build. If you want to compete on level ground get a STC civic...

Looks like he is using a dog-ring transmission. I wonder if it's a G-force T5 or what...?

I saw this Camaro on BangShift. Awesome build!

That seems like it would be a good lightweight option (~75 lbs) for a high revving engine, but according to:
http://www.racingbeat.com/mazda/performance/features/rotary-racer-jeff-kiesel.html
it has a Jerico 4spd Road Racing Gearbox from Taylor Race Engineering, which according to Jerico weighs just 72 lbs.

Using a Jerico makes sense because of the almost unlimited gear selection.
The reason I said G-Force T5 is because I have seen one used behind a rotary before...

Ron's "old" EM Camaro was pretty cool, too. Can't wait to see it run and this class will heat up plenty with Jeff K. and a few others. Love this new Camaro ...

At the local San Diego events, I always worked the course when one of the Kiesel family members was driving the car. That car is absurdly fast. At one event last year he came in 5 seconds faster than the second best time of the day.

EM is one of the fastest classes in SCCA auto-x so 5 seconds doesn't surprise me. His wife Shawn is fast but Jeff is on another planet.
