My El Camino has recently been sponsored by Blue Print Engines with a custom built 383 with Aluminum heads and full roller set-up.
The transmission is a 700-r4 with Corvette Servo, Kevlar bands,Trans-Go shift kit, and a 2400-2600 stall.
I'm now looking for versatility while keeping a classic vehicle that can hang with imports and modern muscle on and off the track.
My El Camino has always been known as The Steel Beast or as we call these in Texas, "The Redneck Corvette" because its been built for the element of surprise since it still has the bed rails, Corvette rallies, and missing body trim.
It's a rough vehicle but I'm ready to bring it back to life as a resto mod.

Texas is a region more than just a state... 860 miles from Orange to El Paso and 830 from Brownsville to Perryton. 268,581 square miles.

For example are you in Iraan, Italy, Paris, Bacon, Athens, Dublin, London, Gun Barrel City, Dime Box, Telephone, or Terlingua? Speaking of Terlingua, I knew of Carroll Shelby because of Terlingua before I knew about his involvement in things automotive.

Dallas! Big city! I live nearby. I am in Plano (pronounced Plain-O), car is being prepped for paint at Rod's Car Craft in Wylie, and I work in Richardson. Do you live in Dallas proper or one of about 50 satellite cities? Are you going to Autorama this weekend?

I'm near Downtown Dallas. I planned on going to Autorama but I have to work. I've been to the previous shows and the rides there blew my mind! It seems that the caliber of vehicles there have motivated me to be one of the first 5th gen Elcos to get to the "Autorama" level even if it takes several years building up this resto mod.
I must say Frisco Automotive & Transmission did an outstanding job on my race ready 700-r4!

Welcome! I will wave from Rahr's brewery on my next visit around Thanksgiving. I realize there's Arlington in between where I'll be and you but it's pretty flat so I'm sure you'll see me.

Nice ride. I look forward to seeing updates.

Thanks! It's a slow project for now since this is my first pro touring type build. I've never played with this style before, so please excuse me as I learn the ropes.
I just purchased a digital MSD system and KYB gas a just shock for the rear. Hoping that's an upgrade from air shocks.

Oh yeah. This is my first time every venturing into this style vehicle, but I like it and want to gain experience from mistakes and learn from some of the best on here.

Thank you! It's finally together now. I'm in need of lowering springs but not sure who has the best for my budget. If anyone has any for a G Body, please let me as I have parts for trade.

Hey Doug. Glad to see you here too. I'm glad I'm making the transition to the new school and leaving the past behind as I start this new venture.
I'm still working on getting my pictures of the progress uploaded.

Yes sire. Trying to keep focused on something I've never done before.
I have to say for the few years I've been interested in this style build, I'm finally learning with hands on experience.
This is cool since I'm still a faily young guy.
