Here's a 1952 Ford Customline 2dr sedan we're working on!
Plans:
Schwartz bolt-in G-Machine Chassis
Ford Coyote 5.0L crate engine
4R70W transmission
Circle Racing Wheels "OE" style 18" billet aluminum wheels w/dog dish hub caps
Classic looks on the exterior, some modern touches on the interior, but nothing too crazy. Sleeper???
When it arrived:

The body was media blasted and we soon epoxy primered it to prevent it from rusting. Then we started on the problem areas. The floorpans looked a little funky..

Oh.... they looked funny because Mr. Professional Builder (or whoever) decided to "fix" the rust by slapping another rocker panel over top of the rusty one. This was after he/she had laid down "new" floorpan panels to cover the originals / rust!

The passenger side was nearly as bad. Unfortunately, repop panels aren't readily available for these. And the panels that ARE available, do NOT work without cutting them apart and redoing it. It's usually easier to make your own from scratch. These include the floor and floor braces especially!

I have a 57 t bird that had a very similar treatment. My dad bought it not long before he died and we began working on it together. He kept telling me to quit finding rust. Couldn't help it the car was sculpted out of bondo and popriveted panels with some kinda tar material on top of that. Glad dad didn't live to see how bad it was. Only thing holding the cowl to the rear half of the car when I quit cutting rust was the driveshaft tunnel.
Good luck with this car, I am going to part mine out.

Yeah it was terrible lol. But it still looked better than rust and crappy patch panels ;)

Starting on the floors. All of the floor braces were rusted out. The only solid portion of the floor is across the middle.
