With 275 40 18 tires in the rear and a 3 inch drop either from DSE or hotchkis...about how many inches of tire would be under the fender??? Also DSE leafs have like 5 leafs and hotchkis has like 3 leafs would DSE leafs hold up more weight in the car or bottom out less since theres 5 leafs?????

I have a 68 so the fender situation would be different but they would fersure tuck on a 69. I had Hotchkis and one if the leafs broke in half so I'd recommend avoiding them. The dse would be your best bet. You can search "faulty leaf spring" and see pics of my car with the 3 inch drop.

The number of leaves does not necessarily equate to a greater spring rate. If you're just looking for which spring has a higher pound rate, I'd call the manufacturers and ask; if they don't give you digits, do not buy them. Your preferred suppliers should cough up this info pretty quickly, I'd think...

I have a friend that choked on a french fry so I would avoid eating french fries. Just because you had a bad experience with them does not make them bad.
OP...either company will serve you well. Rusto is correct that it is not the number of leaves is the spring, but the spring rate that matters.

Chris, do you know off hand what BS you are running on your wheels in your 68 and what size tires in the rear? I think you are running a custom width rear end correct? Did you mini tub at all? Any updated pics of your 68?
