Hey guys, does anyone know the size of the radio slot for a 1971 Pontiac Lemans? Looking to buy a new radio (i'm stocking up a bunch of parts over winter and a radio is on the list) the problem is the lemans is in storage a few hours away and I won't be taking it out until the salt is off the road. Not sure if the size will be the same with other GM A-bodies...probably not since its a dash part and not a body aspect, but who knows?! Any help is appreciated

The factory size of the radio in you Lemans is standard twin shaft. If you are wanting to go in dash modern CD player, you are going to have to cut the dash for a DIN size. Approx 7"x2".

You can also send in your original radio to www.turnswitch.com and have all the internals converted to modern technology and have it appear as factory correct, no dash modification needed. Take the time to call them and discuss your needs, you will be glad you did. They are great to work with and I have dealt with them on several ocassions.
