First of all, I hope this is the appropriate section for such a thread as I am not a site supporting vendor, nor is the following post in any way ment for my own personal financial gain. If this is the incorrect area, please can a moderator move to whereever is seen fit.
I have recently been in contact with a company that makes custom carbon fiber parts. I inquired about having several parts made, but one item in particular was my main topic of interest. I'm looking into working with them to have a custom set of carbon fiber front inner fender wells made for 81-88 Monte Carlos. Now these wouldn't be just carbon versions of OE inners, but smoother, extended versions that would allow for larger tires on cars that have been extensively lowered with the concern of rubbing/bottoming out. Of course, there will also be some weight savings & the cool factory would be through the roof!
The point of this post is to see if there is any genuine interest from members on having a set made for their own cars. Please I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but I am not talking about people who *might* be interested at a later date, after they sell this, or get that taken care of first. I'm asking for genuinely, truly interested members who what a set as soon as they are ready. Planned date of completion if this goes through would be around the end of April.
*IF* I can get 4 other people who are commited to having these made, the cost is greatly reduced as compaired to having a one off set made.
I completely realize this is something only a few would be dedicated to having done, but if you ever found yourself lusting over carbon parts, nows the chance to get in on a unique opportunity.
From what I've seen these guys make, the parts will be show quality out of the box. They will be finished in a glossy clear finish so the carbon weave can be seen, & protected.
Here's the details - if I can get 4 confirmed interested parties, who are willing to leave a deposit on these parts with me, we can get this rolling. Like I said, you would be leaving the deposit with me, & I will deal with getting the vendor paid. At this time, it looks like each pair would cost approximately $850 to have made, + shipping.
I know that is quite a expense to swallow, but this is a unique opportunity to have a very unique set of parts on your special car.
