I've been looking at every possible option for my next motor. I read a super chevy article on a pretty mild 600 hp 355ci small block using the 177 blower. I think the roots-blown torque would be fun on the street. The blower looks cool, but is there any possibility of it fitting under a stock style cowl induction hood on a 1st gen Camaro? If anyone out there has any infor or experience on this I'd be more than glad to hear it. BTW, I found this Nova running one: www.superchevy-web.com/features/nova/0506sc_blue70/index.html

I was looking at the pictures, and the car seems to have a stock-height cowl hood, but I'm not sure what's going on with his air filter setup. Any thoughts?

Did you notice the VERY small air cleaner he is using on that nova... I bet its restricting the carb and blower!

I think you will have a tough time making it work with anything besides a 4inch cowl or a hole in the hood!

I don't see an air filter in those pictures. It's looks like he's running some kind of fabricated housing. I'm sure hood clearance is tight, which is why he had to do that.

This is a friend nova and it needed a 4" cowl if I remember right. Any way it on his page.72_Much (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/763439)

The blue nova in my link above is running one under a stock height cowl hood, but as you can see he has minimal room for an air filter. Your friends car is running a 4" element filter, and it fits under that big cowl hood.

I have a friend with a 67 Camaro with a setup similiar but an older weind street supercharger. It requires an aftermarket cowl hood to fit properly. His car is running a mild 350 with the 4-71 street supercharger.

Heres mine

stock cowl hood, 2X17" K&N filter with a drop base and I had to look for a lid that was very flat, I believe my lid is made by Proform. No other lid would work. After weeks of trying diffrent stuff I went to my local speed shop and just tried drop bases, filters and lids till I found one that would work and this one works just fine. I have about 1/8" clearance.

Ditto what Cham did. My 144 fit a with a drop base filter and a factory steel cowl hood. Barely, but it did fit.
