I see there are 17 pages total now of registered members. So how many is that? Any chance there could be a total registered member count that can be viewed and adjusts with each entry or deletion?

There is one, at the bottom of the main forum page - a count of total members (845 right now), total posts (6199 right now), and threads (933).
You might have it 'minimized', it's the Statistics option under "What's Going On?" below the Archives.
