I'm currently updating the EFI on my Pontiac 400 engine. It used to have a Electromotive TecII system, but now I'm replacing it with a new system. I also need new ignition coils, and the LS-versions seems quite nice.
Found these on e-bay;

Are there any other versions that are better bang for the buck?

I would think for that low of a price they are counterfeit parts out of China.
even being shipped out of CA. call them and check them out first.
just saying.

Rockauto.com has some of the least expensive parts, and usually a few brands to choose from.

Check on LS1Tech, they have takeoffs all of the time posted. I'd go with ls2 style.

You should check out the truck coils. Here is some reading material off the bullet. http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337602&page=4

The LS1 coils are the weakest of the bunch, and they have different mounting bolt spacing than all the other coils.

Look for LS2, LS3, LS7, LS9 coils or for truck coils. The truck coils are bigger and uglier, but some of the truck coils have a heat sink on the back of them and may have a slightly better spark.

If you watch eBay, you should be able to find a used set of truck coils for $100-150. You can usually find a set of new takeoffs in the $200-$250 range for most types of coils. Just make sure they include the wiring harness and mounting brackets if you need them as well.

Thanks for the info guys.

I've been scanning e-bay for takeoffs, but haven't found anyones yet. Might have to check LS1Tech out instead.

Found these on e-bay though;

Will they work?

There's also a lot of really cheap ones at ebay, but I guess these are copies?

I have a extra set of coil brackets (2) for the LS2,3,7 style coils if you find a good price on just the coils

like this deal for "take offs"

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Delphi-12573190-Ignition-Coil-Set-of-8-LS2-LS3-LS4-LS7-D514A-/130911586038?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7af046f6&vxp=mtr

same seller, but "blemished coils"

How does take offs exist?
Are they scratched or something like that, making them impossible to sell on a new car?

Thanks for the offer regarding the brackets, but since it's a Pontiac engine, I'll have to make my own.

Did you find any?

Since I'm gonna use these on a Pontiac engine, the location won't be exactly the same as on the LS-engines. Are there any make-your-own-lenght-wires available?
Or is it the same dimension as my old distributor?
