We'll find out next week for sure, but this is looking GOOD! I wonder how crazy the ZR1 will be??? I do kind of wish the Z06 was still N/A... either way, I'm sold.

The Official Debut was this morning in Detroit

Some of that on-track speed comes from the Z06's optional aero packages. While the standard car's bodywork has already been modified for more speed, downforce and stability, buyers have the option to upgrade to a carbon fiber aero package with a new front splitter, rocker panels and a larger rear spoiler. If that's not enough, the Z07 performance package comes with larger winglets for the the front splitter and an adjustable center section for the rear spoiler that allows the driver to look through it.

The Z06 also gets even more grilles and vents to assist in keeping it cool. The supercharger's intercooler is fed cold air by a reworked front-fascia. Both front and rear brakes benefit from cooling vents. Since 50 percent more air is directed toward the transmission and differential, the rear fascia has been given larger openings.

In many ways this looks more like a C6 ZR1, than the Z06. Especially when you add in the Z07 carbon brakes. Nice!

Really like this styling. The C7 on its own merit, IMO, looks like a re-hashed Aztec to me....

Nice Car ,
GM really did a great job on this ,
I want one .
But , no LS7 . I think the LS7 will be phased out of production in the coming years , and will only be sold as a GM Performance Parts crate engine ..
The LS7 will not be used in any more production line cars ( I'm just guessing on this ).

why do you say it's going to be phased out?

why do you say it's going to be phased out?

I think supercharging is a way to keep power up on smaller displacement engines which gives you fuel economy and good Hp?? I bet in the coming years....V8s will be phased out in favor for forced induction 4 and 6 cylinders.

I wish I had the bill folks for the new C7 Z, looks awesome.

why do you say it's going to be phased out?

Because the LS7 is a Gen IV engine and GM is moving everything over to the Gen V platform. I wouldn't be surprised if the Z28 Camaro was a one or two year run…It is the only production car that uses the LS7 engine.

why do you say it's going to be phased out?

GM doesn't currently have an assembly-line production model that the LS7 will be used in except the Camaro Z28 .
I just think they will drop the LS7 in favor of the smaller cubic inch ( 6.2 liter ) powerplant for cost and fuel efficiency ratings.
It may not happen for a few years .

But , back on the C7 Corvette subject , I think it is a great car , GM is really going world-class with this one.
