I've been working on my Camaro for about 2 years now and well with school and work being slow I don't see the car being done for a long time and I would like to just own a nice car that I can enjoy now the z06 is a 2002 model torch red with 44k on the clock should pull the trigger and trade? Plus a 6 speed so I'm really liking it

See if you can swing the Z06 & keep the Camaro!

Unfortunately this is a thing that happens with Restorations/Tranformations - you think you can get it done in X amount of time, but that grows & grows.

Well drove the z06 I can see why it was 60k when it came out things hauled as and was just awesome then I drove me car it rattled squeaked smelled of fumes and was just a pos compared to the z06 but realized it was my pos and couldn't do it so the build continues!!

The Z06 is a great car, but I think you will be glad you passed-- especially when you get the Camaro closer to done.

Ive found that during long builds if you dont get to drive or ride in a fast/nice car every once in awhile you will sorta lose sight of what you want out of you project and it just takes a little reminder to get the motivation again.

I can totally appreciate where you are coming from. Back in the day, haha that was a while ago, I could rip a car down and have it assembled and driving for the Spring but I'm no Spring Chicken anymore. I had a health battle that has now been going on for 18 months and my progress is a snails pace and I was where you are. I'm kinda lucky though and my work changed my contract so I could drive something beyond 4 door sedans. So, I got me a ZL1 for a work vehicle and while it sucks to put snow tires on it and drive through the snow ( it handles it fine, I just hate the road rash) I've got something to have some fun in.

If you can swing it, having something to enjoy takes the rush out of having to complete your project. As long as you don't end up with two projects! I'm enjoying my build and I'll race the crap out of my ZL all while maintaining it's extended warranty. In the long run you will love having your Camaro done so where there is a will, you will find a way.

Agreed 100%. You gotta fight the good fight. My first real "on my own" build when I was 19 was starting to stall out and i was losing steam. It was a street/strip Nova. Anyhow my neighbor guy, that got me into this stuff in the first place, noticed this and threw me his keys to his mid 11 second 5 speed 63' chevy II and told me to take it for a drive. I came home and went right to work.

I sold my 72 Camaro and bought a new grand sport 6 months ago.
It was the best thing I have done car wise yet, it does everything my Camaro did but without costing me all my money to drive it and in comfort too.
I do have other cars but this is my 1st new car , I usually build all my own cars and it has been great that I did not need to do anything..but I did. even with a new car we get the make it better and faster.
I always thought I could not afford a new car but the vette cost me 1/2 what I had into the Camaro that I had to sell for 1/4 of what I had invested.
I just finished my 69 Camaro and if I had too choose it would be a hard choice.but Id rather drive the vette anyday.

Sold my 71 Firebird and bought a Z06 vette. I missed driving an old school muscle car which got attention everywhere I drove it and the vette was... well, just another vette, so I purchased my 73 Camaro to ease the pain.

Even though I enjoy my 71 Camaro I sometimes am just tired of working on it (or not having the time/money for it) Recently driving in the rain with a fellow member visiting from the US my wiper motor quit......exhaust header leaks, motor mount rubber torn, oil pressure "delay" on cold startup (FFin FRAM filter anti drain back valve!!)

I just had to pull the motor and do some fixing and said to my wife last week: "I sometimes think should I just buy a new Camaro and not have all this hassle".
So I defenately know what you mean.

But I worked on it for 3 days, fixed all I needed to fix and will modify/install a DSE wiper motor coming days (weeks?). When I started it again I was happy again :-)

For now I am sticking to the 71.....
