I was looking at this harness for a little USCA driving and wanted some feedback if anyone had any. The car is a 72 GTO (no roll bar) with 04 GTO seats. I would mount the harness per Wesco http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/4-point-seat-belt.html.

Thanks

on the wesco setup...I pretty sure that mounting the shoulder harness to the floor is NOT very safe, I don't think any race sanctioned organization would allow that, because during impact that will cause compression of the spin in a downward movement and the belt should be mounted to hold you back not down, I'm sure those with more experience will chime in here to help

That would mean a bar of some sort and I dont see myself going that far. Damn every time I think I have a chance to run that USCA event I get smacked back down lol

I'd never mount a harness to the floor behind a regular seat back. In a crash, your upper body will travel forward, the seat back/mechanism will bend or break under the load and the seat back will simply follow your upper body into whatever it hits....similar to using a lap belt only.
Unless the seat is one designed with an integral seat mounted belt arrangement.

I have those in my car... I dont have the instructions handy, but I think Corbeau recommends the rear harness to have no more than a 45* angle.

I was considering these too with some kind of removable harness bar behind the fron seats.

Im surprised they don't make a bar the bolts on the stock roof location of the shoulder harness in A-Bodys. They make them for imports. Im sure there is a reason they don't. I couldn't even find anything where someone had made one.

Supply and demand, most likely.

Tom Farrington made one for his 66. Scroll this thread
