I would like to know what mounts, headers and oil pan. work with the ride tech tru-turn on a 72 nova. I would like to get a good idea on what works so I can try to locate some second hand parts if possible. I would like to keep the cost down by just using the swap plates and moding the stock auto trans cross member if I can to cut cost but not sure if just the ls swap plates work or not. Also the trans will be a T56 so I know the tunnel will need to be cut.
Brands, part numbers and pics would be great.
Thanks in advance

Check out Geoffp's build, Wild Blue in the project section.
He is running an ls and the tru turn.

I went with 1 inch set back from the stock sbc locating from ebay. Dont get the ones that say set back 1 inch because that will put the ls motor back in the stock sbc location. U need the ones that are actually 2 inch set back. i used autokraft pan with the engine plates with my tru turn and it barley cleared and i have mabey 1/2 inch head to firewall clearence on passenger head. I went with autokraft pan because of the baffling. Im sure the holley pan will work with mounts also. I tried to find the motor adapter plates the 48hr camaro ran but couldnt get a positve awnser. Dirty dingo plates dont work with the tru turn and autokraft neither will the autokraft mounts. There are plenty of conversion parts to get the ls in the nova but the tru turn throws a wrench in most of them. I dont have headers i run a turbo. The trans crossmenber is going to be tuff to make fit becase off the set back and length of trans. I tried 2 diffenrent ones and ended up having the bmr welded up to get it to work.

Id use all of holleys new swap parts. U can skip the headers to save little $. We used dirty dingo dd plates in a 69 camaro with tru turn. Used holley pan and dynatech headers with an iroc box. We also used the speedtech 6 speed crossmember. Its expensive but allows ton of adjustment and fit nicely. If you'd rather mod crossmember than buy a pan the stock 98-02 fbody is probably best choice.

The new Hooker swap components and the Holley oil pan will certainly put your engine and transmission (yes, there is a direct bolt-in T56 crossmember from Hooker that works with the new clamshell retrofit engine mounts) in prime position in your subframe, but I cannot validate whether or not they will provide compatibility with the Ridetech parts first-hand. If you can provide info as to how the geometry of the Ridetech parts differ from that of the stock parts I may be able to provide photos that will help ascertain the answer, as I possess images of the fitment of the stock stock steering components with the Hooker/Holley from just about every angle. You won't have much luck with finding 2nd-hand examples the new Hooker or Holley parts on the market as they have just recently been released.

Hey Z06vet, can you clarify for me whether you used the existing 302-1 Holley oil pan on your Camaro swap, or the new 302-2 Holley oil pan? Your answer will help build the compatibility knowledge base here for the Hooker/Holley parts for this application. Thanks.
