I bought this cutlass earlier this year and its been a rocky road so far but im not losing faith in this build. (might name her Faith)
After losing money by hiring a shop to do my LS swap and being bullshyted by them i pulled the car out of that shop and started over again. For anyone this might help STAY AWAY from hotrod revolution in cummings GA. http://hotrodrev.com/
moving on my plans are to build a pro touring car i can drive all over the place, not a race car
Engine -LY6 backed by a 4L80E trans out of a cargo van
Wildwood 6 caliper disc brakes all around
19 x8.5 front and 20x10 rear wheels (tucked in)
Qa1 adjustable suspension kit (lower the car 2-3 inches)
all red reupholstered interior
red cloth top
this is how the car looked when i got it

Below is a render idea, not sure about the black bumpers (open to ideas)

Nice starting point. I like the colors in the rendering. I didn't know they made Forgiato wheels that small. (Kidding)

Good looking car! I'm in the process of building the same car and going in the same general direction. I haven't been updating my build thread though. Dismantling the car I found a lot more work than I bargained for including a rotten frame. Glad to see you and this build have found your way here I'll be following along.

Thinking about going with these gauges, anyone have any experience with them and how do i figure out what size will fit the cutlass dash?

As I'm sure you know, it's an "A-Body", and a lot of the Chevelle A-body parts will fit it. I've a '70 Buick GS455 I work on occasionally, and the front suspension upgrade parts were spec'd for a '70 Chevelle, bolted right in, no mod necessary.
It's a really nice body style, both the Olds and the Buick, don't have a pix to show you, but have run across a couple in recent years fixed very nicely in the direction you are going.
"Maxine" strikes me as a name for your car, don't know why, it just struck me when I saw the pix!
Happy New Year,
Willy
ps, did find a pic of the Buick, from it's "prostreet" days, that's getting changed:

Will start a thread on it when I get back to work on it....

Based on the way the 69 dash is setup, you probably need some sort of combo gauge(temp, volt, oil, fuel). Size will probably be 3 3/8". I don't think Autometer makes any like that? You can get a combo and a separate speedo and tach. You might want to hit up New Vintage or SpeedHut.

Classic Instruments also do quad gauge systems in various styles. I have Classic gauges in my 71 Firebird, they look and work great.
Only thing I could say is think about LED lighting, the regular gauge lighting isn't brilliant.

just a lil progress...pulled the motor and shaved the firewall for a cleaner look.
Deleted the heater box and will eventually install vintage air with flush firewall mounted fittings when i can afford it

have had the pleasure of riding around in Ruby a couple times although she is not all the way finished and realised i need a lil bit more power, so i am adding a cam, stall converter and headers but in the meantime this is how she sits right now. Memorial weekend is my deadline to have her cruise ready.
my future wish list update is to install vintage air and maybe supercharge it
