Installation of Lokar e-brake cable

I am confused regarding installation of the e-brake cable on by Kore3 C5 rear brake. I have the Lokar EC-80 cable and its include a spring that I thought should be mounted between the clevis an the e-brake bracket. Unfortunately the spring is to long, so should I cut it ? I have seen installations on the net were the spring has been skiped, but I thought that this must be installed. Any help on this, pictures say more than thousen words !

Trim that spring!!! You may have the wrong clevises too... this is the only pic I have available. Tobin has the part numbers in the instructions.

I will check the instruction tomorrow, i have the lokar EC-80CC. What clevis are you using, its hard to see on the picture. I find a tread here with a installation with out spring. I thought the spring was needed to return the cable to the initial position.

How are you connecting the Lokar cable to the factory setup?

The takeaway point is that if you are retaining the brake cable spring at the front of the car, you can eliminate the Lokar springs at the rear.

Your clevis looks correct to me (Lokar #EC80CC), you just need to shorten the spring or eliminate it as noted previously. Am I correct that the clevis slides freely down the actuator arm so that the cable is inline with the clevis, and it's just the spring keeping it from doing so?

Right, so if you keep the original style front cable with the spring already on it, you would just get rid of the springs on the rear and cut the cable to the correct length.

There are two styles of clevises (clevi?). There's a Corvette style and an Explorer style. If I recall the Corvette style didn't work with my brakes and had to switch to the Explorer style. I'll go back and see if I have the part numbers.

Ok, from what I can recall/dig up from my old posts, the Covette style clevis (EC80CC) did not fit on my Wilwood brakes, it is meant for Baer brakes. I had to use the Ford Explorer style (EC81FC) with my Wilwoods.

Obviously Tobin will have a better idea of what will fit his C5 brake kit.

I have the 80-CC. Tobin, it fits perfect just as it should. To night I removed the spring and it seems that all parts returns just as it should. Probably I will test the new brakes and the E-brakes during the weekend if we dont get any snow here in Stockholm......

Is it ok to cut the Lokar spring down to fit the ebrake drum bracket and use the OEM front cable setup that already has a spring on the cable?
