What sport seat foam /covers are best TMI or legendary?
How do you like them in looks and feel compared to stock?
looking for a stock look while not sitting on a rock hard seat sliding around in corners..back hurts after 10 miles.

I sat in both at SEMA this year. This was in their booths for a few minutes each, not a moving car. The Legendary Rallye seats are a bit wider on flat area of the base and to me, have a nicer quality to them. The TMI's are a bit narrower and that seemed to fit my asset better, but the outward quality wasn't quite there for me. As far as cushion goes, they seemed very similar and are close to an new car's OE seat in firmness. As others have stated before, neither of these seats will do all that well keeping you in place if you're cornering hard (AutoX, etc). Depends on what you plan on using the car for. Just my $.02

By the looks of your pic, you looking for seats for a early Camaro? If you are over 5'10", watch out for loss of headroom with sport seats. I am in the process of yanking TMI sport seats and swapping in something else. After the TMI foams and covers, I lost a good 3" of head room...I can't drive without sliding so far forward. Yes, I did install the seat extenders but now I'm so far back, the back seat is entirely unusable. Apparently, I can pick up an inch by chopping the brackets but that's not nearly enough and at the same time, the sport seats look nice but they are not nearly as comfortable or supportive as a more modern performance seat. With the right coverings, a newer seat can look very much at home in an early interior...houndstooth, for instance.

Some folks have had luck with Sport Seats but do your homework and take some measurements...it's been a massive and costly learning experience for me...one that I wouldn't wish upon you.

Good to know thanks, that's the info im looking for before I spend more money and lots of hard work.
I have not seen them in person let alone sit in them.
I could make my own again with foam and support braces on the stock frames with sewing up the seat covers from a upholstery shop and have them done in leather for around the same cost.
I was hoping the sport seats would be the easy way.
I need to do something as the stock seats are like sitting on a wet rock, but its a stock looking 69 convertible so I do not want aftermarket seats .

I just read that the foam density was wrong and tmi corrected it. if your seats are too high and hard they will exchange your foam but not pay for changing it.
My question is how do you know if your getting the correct foam or defect foam?
I ordered and installed way too many parts just to remove them and pay shipping and all other expenses to try to get my money back or the correct part to risk it again.

I wish that solved my problem. I live near TMI and their sales mgr (super good guy) took my car and replaced the orig Sport Seats with their Sport II seats (new, lower density foams) and it barely helped...perhaps not at all. The seats look fantastic...TMI quality is great for sure, but they are just too tall - new foam, old foam...didn't matter in my case. Off to Craigslist they go...

I wonder if legendary has that problem? I have not herd anything bad about them.

I've not heard about the issue with them but I never looked into it. After my experience, I advise you to be suspicious. Don't spend any money until you sit in seats in a car fully installed. Too big a gamble otherwise.

I have the TMIs in mine. Love them. Don't know if it is old or new density foam. They are about a year and a half old. Way better then the stock foam it replaced. I am 5-10 and have no head room issues, even with a helmet on. Just my .02

Dam , they look great.
Around here I don't think I would ever have a chance to sit in them or see them in person. the level of build here is 1/2 a$$ or less, lucky to see a Camaro with un ripped seats.
my seats are mint but hard and were not even new foam when covered., the headrests are like blocks of wood.
I want them but not sure how to make sure Im getting the new fixed foam.
still waiting on a price for covers/foam /headrest for base 69 in black from mcb , They are $425.00 shipped from camarointerior.com but not answering about the foam.
I have very bad luck parts ordering so do not want to chance it, even if I can return them theres still shipping and waiting.

I loved the Sport R's I ran in the 71 Chevelle I built. I'm 6'4" and after the new foams I did have to move the seats back about 2", but I needed the legroom, and besides, what new seat covers aren't thicker than 40 year old originals? Here's my car on their website:

I'm working with them to get their whole line of Sport XR's and other products into my 66 Mustang.

Still waiting to hear back from MCB and Camaro interior parts on the foam issue, to make sure I getting the new issue solved foam and not the old foam.
You can read about it on team Camaro, TMI found the foams were defective and too dense and are refunding/trading for the correct foam if you are sitting too high, but not install cost.
