Im trying to decide on body mounts for my GTO. Ill be sticking a new frame under it this winter/spring. I was wondering if anyone has feedback on the ABC body mounts in reguards to performance, street driving, noise, vibration etc.

Well I decided to pull the trigger yesterday. Got them in black anodized and then I bought the isolators from SC&C to go with. I hope they're worth the coin. Apparently Pontiac's use two extra body mounts that Chevy, Olds and Buick don't use so they're even more than they advertise on the website....ouch.

i installed them on my 67 the bodies solid the only reason i went to solid mounts was because i welded my cage to the frame so there was no way later down the rode to ever change rubber bushings out.. they are kinda of pricey but the only company that makes them for a body

Nick,
If you need extra isolators, let me know the size (small or large), and I'll send them out to you.

Isolators? How do you come by a set. I like the idea of having a small amount of damping, this would be great if they were delrin.

Hey guys. They are a small gasket made of something rubbery with something else in it...haha. You would have to call MArc @ SC&C for a better explanation....i honestly cant remember exactly whats in them. Anyhow Marc says they are made specifically to go in between the aluminum mounts and the body. I'm not sure if they are A body specific, the body bushings I got from ABC were 2" in diameter and 4 of the isolators are 2" in diameter, the other 10 are 2-3/8" in diameter.
I think the idea is to avoid contact between unlike metals causing corrosion and kill any possibility of NVH with a thin layer. If you want a pic I can post them. They're like $40 bucks shipped.

That'd be great. Do I just need to call Mark; I didn't see them listed on the site.

I forgot I took some pics of them for my build thread. Here's a few pics of the body mounts from ABC performance. The SC&C Isolator gaskets are in the small baggy in the right hand side of the pictures. The hardware is grade 8 stuff and costs an extra $75 bucks. Anyhow they come with heavy washers, shouldered grade 8 bolts and nuts and shimming washers for the radiator support. Its good really good quality stuff at first impression.

That looks great. I was hoping they were delrin or some other hard material. I seem to recall Mark making a call out to see who would be interested in Delrin mounts some time ago. Nonetheless, I'll be giving him a call to get these coming. Appreciate it Nick.

We are still in the process of building the specific isolator kits for F, A, and G bodies using aluminum body mounts. We have numerous sizes available, and will include the correct quantity and sizes needed for each specific car. They are made from thin, but super tough reinforced rubber. They will be on the website very soon.

I installed polly on my Elco and went for a drive and hated it! felt every paint strip on the road. so I switched polly on top and rubber on bottom much better fell. but then again i drive my car more than race it.

Whats the rest of your chassis consist of. The way I understand it, the stronger the link between frame and body the better. Its your spring/shock/tire package that decides how your car rides.

Thanks for the update, John. Post up when they're ready. That way we don't have to waste your time calling for updates.
