Hello all,
I am about to buy a 2011 L96 silverado 6.0 from a salvage yard. I asked the salvage yard seller if this engine has active fuel management aka DOD. He stated he wasn't sure and that he believed it did. I am looking for an L96 without DOD. Don't want to deal with it. Does anyone know if this year engine came with DOD, is there a stamp or RPO on the block that I should have him look for without taking the engine apart and checking the lifters? Looking to throw it into my 68 camaro with modifications to the cam, springs and intake manifold

Look at the lifter valley cover if it has multiple risers and ridges and is not completely plat then dod it is

http://www.gmpowertrain.com/PowertrainOverview.aspx

click on US Vehicles Engines and tarnsmissions, then on powertrain products: every LS RPO for GEN IV is listed. The L96 has VVT, and not the AFM/DOD system.

Josht, thanks for that site. Great info. Now onward with the purchase and that monster of a tranny 6190.
