Has anyone ever painted their rear tail light housings (where they're chrome) black? Just wondering what it would look like. If so, does anyone have any pictures?

thanks,
Carl

if you just want to see what it looks like you could always just plasti-dip them. it's not permanent and will give you a good idea if you like it or not.

I'd agree with plasti-dip also.

You didn't say what tail lights you have , I assume 68 Camaro.
Go to Google images 68 Camaro tail lights. Companies such as Fesler sell them in black anodized billet aluminum. Nice but plastidip is much much cheaper.

Take a picture, print it out and color the frames black.... :) or do it in Paint.

I have been thinking about doing this on my 67 firebird, I think it would look better. The plastidip method would definitely be a good option since it can be removed without harming the finish underneath.

thanks for your thoughts guys.. I guess I'll try to paint them black with rattle can and then take off the paint where the chrome is with lacquer thinner if I don't like it..

eBay search pro touring, there are two first gen camaros on there fs with this done. Bumpers, trim, and housings are black. Definitely different!
