I converted my car to manual brakes two years ago. I have a 1978 Cutlass A/G- body. I had a 1979 Malibu manual brake master cylinder then I went to a bigger S-10 master cylinder. The brakes work ok but the master cylinder is aiming uphill. I made my own adapter plate from something I saw on Malibu -racing. This week I ordered a "TRZ" master cylinder adapter, it should level the master cylinder.

Problem is, I moved my push rod to the top hole or I should say top pin on the brake pedal. This was supposed to give a better pedal ratio.( Power brakes lower pin , manual brakes upper pin) The TRZ adapter looks to be set up for lower location.

Any one been there with this, am I making any sense ? Hate to think I threw more money away on a part I can't use. I searched the site and couldn't find anything on this, hope I posted in correct place.

I guess the real question is about the push rod pin location on the g-body pedal. Anybody know if you need to use the upper one for manual brakes? I cut mine out of the lower position and moved it up to the upper position now it won't line up with my TRZ adapter. I was told you get a better pedal ratio. Cars are so much fun when you have to do things twice and buy parts twice. The learning curve.

I used the same adaptor on my Monte. I used the top hole on the brake pedal and needed to clearance the hole in the adaptor a little to keep it from binding. I also put a slight kink in the push rod. Hope this helps.

Thank you, it does help. I thought I was going to have to change the pedal assembly and use the lower hole (or pin)
