I have been working on some carbon stuff for the 2nd gensand 1st gen camaros. In the works is a rear deck lid with integral center spoiler. The tooling is about 50% complete and will have a protoytpe made in the next month or so. The piece will bolt on and use factory latch. It should reduce about 25 lbs. Next up is a hood. I will also be doing 1st gen front spoilers. Just putting out message to get some idea of demand for such items. Your feedback is welcome

Make a 3rd gen deck lid. Its simple...but i dont know of anyone making any. Theres also a demand for 3rd gen cf hoods...one is supposedly in the works.

I have a few pictures i can send you of the CF 3rd gen hoods they run in japan...they look so wicked...clean

I'm kinda hip to the idea. I think it would fit nicely with the look I have planed for my car. But as stated above, it's gotta fit right. I did a lot of composite work when I worked on helicopters in the Coast Guard, I have no desire to do any more of it nor do I have the equipment at home to do so.

thanks for the input guys. I am still building the tooling for the 2nd gen deck lids and the rest is in the future. All pieces will be molded of original pieces, so fit should be very good. I am glad to see interest, since building just one for myself becomes very teadious work. Watch for updates. suggestions are also welcome

I think the trunk lid and hood for first gens is a great idea. Maybe you could add CF inner wheel housings for first gens to your list, for guys that still want the engine compartment protection without the nasty weight?

I an going to start buying CF parts in 2006. Here's a list of what I will be putting on my 71 RS Camaro:

1) Hood with 3" cowl or L-88 (4" cowl may work).
2) 2 fenders.
3) 2 inner fenderwells.
4) RS header panel.
5) RS valance panel.
6) RS nose piece (I have an original and a repo already, both in great shape).
7) RS bumperettes (I have 2 pair already, so may rechrome one set and paint the other set black).
8) Trunk lid.
9) 3-piece rear spoiler.
10) Maybe a radiator support as I will have a front cage system for support?

Please give me prices and timing when ready. Thanks,

I think you 1st gen guys have enough parts made for you. The 2nd gens are the ******* children of the aftermarket compared to you. I've had a ton of 3rd gens and they are pretty well taken care of parts wise as well. It's nice to hear that someone is coming out with some 2nd gen parts right now. I'd be very interested in a front valance, hood, and trunk lid/spoiler.

Keep us posted.

I'm interested in the 1st gen parts.

Idea on prices, like a range within 150 bucks?

Inner fenders for a 2nd-gen would be sweet. I also think CF headlight/signal bezels and front grilles would be cool. And a CF hood with the 80-81 style Z scoop on it, but like an inch taller than factory. I'd be all over one of those.

Come up with a 1st gen CF hood.. soon.. and I will buy it and give you great exposure :)

Wish I could find a CF hood for a decent price, wouldn't even care if it HAD to be painted so long as it fit right.

I am near your location even.. saving weight, especially off the front, is a good thing..
