Hey guys, I'm trying to wrap up my wiring for my ls swap in my 72 chevelle. my sb350 had 3 wires going to it, which of these should i keep and where do they attach as the ls starter has only 2 posts and a plug in????? also are there any other wires i need to keep from the old harness in the engine bay?
thanks, anthony

I think the 3 wires you've got are one that goes to the battery, one to the alt, and one is a signal wire that goes to your ignition. The battery and alt wire go on the bigger positive terminal on the starter, the signal/ignition wire goes to the plug in on the starter.

Well what I'm confused with is the three wires that are from my old harness that go to the fuse block. One had a pig tail in the middle of it that plugged into my distributer, another was a thicker gauge red one that I assume Drew 12volt constant and I'm not sure about the other, that just went to the fuse block. Do I need all three of those old ones?

The thicker gauge red wire is your constant 12v and the one going to your fuse block would be the signal wire from your ignition. I'm not positive about the distributor one maybe some else will chime in with some more info.

Found this online. I think you can get rid of that distributor wire, I don't think you'll need it.

1972 was pre-HEI, so the ignition ran off a slightly lower voltage during regular running.
The distributor wire was to give the coil a full twelve volts while cranking.
you will no longer need it.
