i have to replace the master cylinder and brake booster on my 84 monte. the original equipment was the dual diaphragm booster on the car. the brake setup i'm going with is c6 front calipers and ls1 f-body rears. is the stock setup good, or since i'm stuck with getting new parts, are there alternatives that may be better suited for the 4 wheel disc setup.

I'm really happy with the stock dual booster and master from a 91 caprice along with a gutted proportioning valve and adjustable bias. Our caliper volumes are pretty similiar so you should have similiar results.

Why not try the original master cylinder? Worth a shot before spending $'s.

I used one from a B body car from mid 90s. I got it from the bone yard, it has BW on the master cylinder reservoir. Somewhere mid 90's they switched to metric, obviously it wont work.

I have a chance to pick up a master cylinder/booster setup from a lt1 Camaro. The question I have is the pattern and hook up to the firewall and brake pedal common on later model gm's?

The top two holes will line up but the bottom two are a few inches lower.

Not sure what year it changed, but I bet the F body Master Cylinder fittings are metric, where Monte lines are English.
