Alternator wire routing

Just curious as I have already routed my 6 gauge alt power wire to the starter terminal along with the battery terminal. It's working fine. Just wondering if there is a difference wiring it directly to the battery. It's in the trunk and I really don't feel like routing that wire all the way back there. Thanks.

That is how I have my alternator charge wire routed. No problems in over 5000 miles.
