anyone seen the new eastwood or equivelent 2k aerosol paints? saw the eastwood videos on youtube and was impressed with the product. I was thinking of painting my engine bay, dash, steering column, and other parts on my 67 mustang with a satin 2k black aerosol.

i was going to use their 2k aerosol epoxy primer as well on some bare metal parts i have kicking around.

Those cans are $20+ each. You end up paying about 50 times more for the equivalent amount of material in a quart. With the amount of surface area your doing, I'd stick with mixing yourself and shoot it with a gun. You'll have better results and with the cost difference probably be able to buy a cheap gun and still be cheaper.

sucks.

i have hvlp guns that i bought a while back. i still need a new air hose, dryers, regulator, and all the other piddly things. figured the cans would be a fast alternative for small parts jobs.

That's what they are for, small spot repairs. You just need a cheap regulator at the gun. I'd skip the dryer and go with a good filter. That should be more than adequate for what your doing (unless the rings are leaking in your compressor and pushing oil in the air).

I bought a couple cans for spot repairs where I sanded through. Once activated, the pot life is 48 hours I believe. Just keep that in mind.

Engine bay, I would just mix and spray with a gun.
