Hi guys;
I'm putting together parts for my '68 Firebird build and I'm trying to figure out rear axle and rims to buy.
On my list of to-do's is to mini-tub my car as well as possibly shorten a Ford 9" axle I have and get some wide rear tires.
I love the look of the 2013 C6 Grand Sports, but like many folks I have champagne tastes and a ginger ale budget.
To save a few dollars, I'm thinking about going with a Kore3 brake and rotor kit and getting a set of Corvette rims.
Why aren't more people running these rims on their cars? Is it because there is no lip on the rims? is it considered unfashionable to run Corvette rims on any other car?
I don't really want to get laughed out of anywhere so I can hold off buying rims for a while but it would be great to know what I can use to start the modifications and measurements with.
Any and all opinions and feedback are welcome!!

I think they look good. Also, it doesn't matter what others think. Do what you think looks good.

The challenge is that the later Vette wheels are a different bolt pattern from the older 5x4.75. If I understand correctly it's 120.0mm vs 120.65mm so you need an adapter which moves the wheel out even farter. I was looking at some 12" Z06 wheels but I don't want them sticking out that far.
Please correct me if I am mistaken though.

It all depends on who you ask, or which forum you ask it on.
A lot of people run 5x120mm on their fbody's with no issues, and run them hard. Some people say it puts a stress on the lug bolts, other say GM tolerance are greater than this anyways.
I just posted this on LS1tech the other day. The difference between the two bolt patterns is only .65mm. If you need a visual on that, grab a mechanical pencil and give it a few clicks. Odds are that your lead is .7mm thick, which is more than we are talking about here.

All Corvettes have a 5x4.75 wheel pattern actually, but the C4/C5/C6/C6 will be high-offset wheels and will require bolt-on type wheel spacers/adapters, although both the inner and outer wheel pattern will be the same.

I don't think the c6 rims will have the correct backspace, looking at my 69 and my 13 g/s they would need some wide spacers.
The spacers and wheels might cost you as much as a set of cheap or used aftermarket wheels.
Also IMO no dish looks like @$$.

DAMN ! That means I missed out on a really nice set of Z06 wheels at a great price. There was so much pro and anti information on this I just wrote it off as there must be something going on.

Those look really good, did you need to install spacers?

Yes. I have 1 1/2" spacers on front and rear. I'm going to buy some 1 1/4" for the rear and some 1" for the front and see how I like them. What's on there now, though, fits great. My wheels are C6 z06 Motorsport wheels offered by LLCWheelsinc

your gonna need adapters to run these anyways. you can have the 120 mm stud pattern and the 5 x 4.75 hole pattern.
